I was stuck behind a car accident on West End Ave in Nashville, near St Thomas hospital, during a pounding thunderstorm. Horns blaring, sirens roaring, thunder and lightening creating a cacophony of chaos. I looked through my car window at a field in front of the Dominican College campus, and there along a small stream was a willow tree, oblivious to the chaos, serene and stoic. The opening lines of this song rained down upon me, melody and all, in that very moment.
