I've been laboring over this song over a few days this past week...in the middle of which I watched "Blood Diamond" for the first time...WHEW. That movie makes you feel the trauma of third world war in a way nothing ever has, and it made me realize I felt like like I wasn't adequately capturing the dissent of our world in this song, like I was offering for sale a cheap imitation black market war rather than the real thing. Long story short, I CAN'T capture that kind of incredible horror in a song, I'm just not that great of a writer. :) Nor would I want to. I think I was a bit influenced by John Lennon's "Happy XMas (War is Over)" in the theme and topic...now let's just go into this season of joy and reflection and treat each other right. We owe it to God and ourselves. Love. Yes.
