The Standing ‘O’ Project is an online streaming community for musicians and fans that actually helps musicians earn a living. Watch this video to learn how:
We live in a world where music has been severely devalued. Millions of songs are given away for free online. Many people actually think they shouldn’t have to pay for music. Musicians are marginalized by big corporations profiting from their creativity and not sharing the wealth fairly.
According to an article in The New York Times entitled Do You Love Music? Silicon Valley Doesn’t, “While Napster is long gone, the looting continues, only now it is technology giants like Google and Sirius XM, along with streaming services like Pandora, that are responsible.”
We believe that it’s vitally important that young people grow up in a world where being a musician is seen as a viable career path. Otherwise, Don McLean’s classic song, American Pie, where he sings of “the day the music died,” will become a tragic reality.
Please join our community, enjoy great music, listen to inspiring interviews, and help keep the music alive and well!
