"I play rock ’n’ roll with soul in its veins."
The Hole You Dug
A murderous track with a haunting, chain-gang inspired beat and gospel/early-delta style vocals. A dark, nasty tune, indeed. This song definitely strays from the path of the rest of the EP; it’s off doing its own, insidious thing.
“Meet Me” just has a cool vibe - it’s got a “old-school rock ’n’ roll meets gospel soul” feel to it with a nice swing in the beat.
“It’s a full-dose of my new sound, it’s upbeat, and it’s one of those songs that I feel everyone can relate to. It’s a fun, high-energy track to play out the EP.”

1: What artist would you most love to work with?
That's a tough one - there's too many that I'd love to work with for so many different reasons. I've always wanted to collaborate with Keith Richards though.
2: What instrument brings you the most joy?
The guitar is a sexy beast - the way you've got to caress it and manipulate it...the more I play it, and the better I get, the more intimate the experience of playing the guitar becomes.
3: What was the worst advice?
Someone once told me to just listen to the top 40 and try to make your sound match that template. Horrible, soulless advice.
4: What was your first concert?
I played a little acoustic show in the student union at the University of Wyoming.
5: What/where is the best road food?
I'm a total health nut. I always seek out a health food store and grab a bunch of random stuff - raw nuts, coconut flakes, baking chocolate...things that are healthy and packed with fats and calories.
6: What’s the best music advice you ever got?
It was actually a Miles Davis quote, it's stuck with me for a long time: "Sometimes you have to play a long time to be able to play like yourself."
7: Who is your most surprising inspiration?
A guitar teacher I had when I was young continues to be an inspiration to me - even though he wasn't a man who made the best choices, and he has since passed. I had no idea what a profound effect on my life he would have.
