STANDING ‘O’ PROJECT WILL CLOSE JANUARY 31, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the closing of the Standing ‘O’ Project. We have given it our best efforts for nearly six years, but have not reached a point of sustainability. We’ve maintained a level of about 100 subscribers, but that’s only about a tenth of what we’d need to keep the project going. Lots of people love the project… just not enough of them.
To our subscribing fans and artists, we thank you for your participation and for being willing to take a chance on a bunch of idealistic folkies with a dream to make the music business better for all.
Recurring payments for all fan subscriptions have stopped as of December 31. We will keep the site open for all to use until January 31, 2019. Final artist payouts will be made in early January. Refunds will be made to reimburse the unused portions of annual subscriptions.
We encourage you to continue supporting your favorite Standing ‘O’ Artists by visiting their websites and buying their music.
We continue our mission of supporting artists through the public radio program Art of the Song, now in its 15th year and heard on over 100 stations. If you wish to support our efforts to inspire creativity worldwide (and access interviews with the best songwriters of our time) please visit patreon.com/artofthesong.
In addition to our work with Art of the Song, we (Vivian & John) are tackling social justice issues by performing Si Kahn’s musical, Mother Jones in Heaven in theaters and music venues across North America and Europe. We’d love to see you at a show!
Please write (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any questions, comments or concerns.
Still standing, still applauding!
John, Viv & Katie
